Svenja Plaas
https://svenjaplaas.ch/Geboren in der Schweiz, lebt und arbeitet als freischaffende Illustratorin, Filmeditorin und Künstlerin in Wien. Sie studierte Grafikdesign an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste und Filmschnitt an der Filmakademie Wien. Als Illustratorin arbeitet sie für diverse internationale Auftraggeber. Filme, an denen sie als Editorin beteiligt war, wurden an zahlreichen Festivals gezeigt (u.a. Int. Film Festival Rotterdam, Zurich Film Festival). 2022 wurde sie für den Edimotion Nachwuchsförderpreis nominiert. Zudem initiiert sie eigene Projekte, welche sie an Gruppen- und Einzelausstellungen präsentiert. Mit Bildern – manchmal in Kombination mit Texten – Geschichten zu erzählen, steht im Zentrum ihrer Arbeiten. Seit 2021 unterrichtet sie Illustration an der Kunstuniversität Linz.
Born in Switzerland, lives and works in Vienna as an illustrator, film editor and artist. She studied graphic design at the Zurich University of the Arts and film editing at the Vienna Film Academy. As an illustrator she works for various clients in Switzerland and abroad. Films she was involved as an editor have been screened at numerous festivals (including Int. Film Festival Rotterdam, Zurich Film Festival). In 2022 she was nominated for the Edimotion Editing Award. She also initiates her own projects, which she presents at group and solo exhibitions. Telling stories with images, sometimes in combination with text, is central to her work. Since 2021 she teaches Illustration at the Art University Linz.
